My 20 years of federal service have taken me around the world, providing invaluable experience along the way.
About nine years ago, I learned that NASA was consistently ranked as the best place to work in the federal government. This fueled my passion to one day join the NASA family.
I set my sights on all things NASA. Every training course, conference, and effort was in preparation for a career at NASA. Two years ago, my investment paid off when I was hired as an administrative officer in the NASA Office of Inspector General (OIG) Office of Audits.
Working for NASA OIG is more than just a job. My responsibilities include tracking and managing budgets, developing and implementing organizational processes and procedures, and providing recommendations and counsel to approximately 70 employees. However, what I find most rewarding about working at NASA OIG is being part of a team that contributes to a stronger, more just society by uncovering wrongdoing, recommending improvements, and safeguarding taxpayer dollars. It’s a career path that offers intellectual stimulation, professional growth, and the profound satisfaction of knowing that my work has a tangible impact on the lives of taxpayers.
Never in a million years did I dream this would be my life. It’s never too late to invest in yourself. I encourage you to pursue your dreams and create the life you desire.
