Assistant Inspector General for Management (Acting)

Dean Lefor is the Acting Assistant Inspector General for Management at the NASA Office of Inspector General (OIG). He oversees the Office of Management, which provides human capital, information technology, budget and financial management, procurement, policy, and administrative support to the OIG.

Before serving as Acting Assistant Inspector General for Management, Lefor was NASA OIG’s Deputy Assistant Inspector General for Management. Since joining NASA OIG in 2013, he has also served as Director of the Resources Management Division; Manager for Procurement, Policy, and Administration; and an Operations Officer. Prior to that, he was a Management Analyst with Federal Student Aid at the U.S. Department of Education.

Lefor holds a Master of Public Administration from the University of North Dakota and bachelor’s degrees in finance and psychology from North Dakota State University. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Public Administration and Public Affairs at Virginia Tech.
