Kathryn D. Sheehey

Kate Sheehey serves as the Assistant Inspector General for Management, a role she began in September 2024. In this capacity, she oversees NASA OIG’s business functions, including human resources (HR), budget and procurement, and information technology.

Prior to joining NASA OIG, Sheehey served as the Executive Officer for the Tax Division at the Department of Justice (DOJ TAX), where she oversaw the offices of HR, Comptroller, Information Technology, Records Management, Litigation Support, Facilities and Security, and the Division Counsel. Before moving to DOJ TAX, Sheehey served in a variety of roles at the DOJ Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR), culminating with the Chief Management Officer position. While at EOIR, she received the Attorney General’s Award for Excellence in Administrative Support, as well as an award for Excellence in Management. Before joining DOJ, Sheehey served as a legislative analyst for health issues at the Office of Management and Budget, and as an analyst at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Office of Legislative Affairs. 

Sheehey received her bachelor’s degree in public policy from the College of William and Mary, and her law degree from the George Washington University School of Law.
