Huntington Woman Sentenced to Prison for COVID-19 Relief Fraud Scheme

Huntington, West Virginia—Tanisha Wooding, 46, of Huntington, was sentenced on Monday, January 5, 2026, to 10 months in prison, to be followed by three years of supervised release, and ordered to pay $101,204.31 in restitution for theft of government money. Wooding fraudulently obtained $91,664 in COVID-19 loans guaranteed by the Small Business Administration (SBA) under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act for her personal use.
