NASA Exchanges operate cafeterias, gift shops, and other businesses to generate funds used to promote and manage employee morale activities like child development and fitness centers. Exchanges are required to obtain an annual audit or review of their financial statements by an independent public accounting (IPA) firm. The OIG conducted a review of the FY 2024 IPA audit reports and found that while the reports overall complied with necessary requirements, five had quality deficiencies while one Exchange was exempt from an audit or review and another did not have an audit or review performed.
