Guide for Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Requests
NASA documents: You may submit a FOIA request to NASA by mail, facsimile, e-mail, from the Internet, or in person. This link to NASA’s FOIA Home Page will provide requesters with detailed information about making requests for Agency documents.
OIG documents: While we are linked to the Agency FOIA Office and follow their reporting requirements, requests for OIG documents are handled independently by the OIG. Requests to the OIG can be made by mail, facsimile, e-mail, from the Internet, or in person at the following address:
Office of Inspector General
NASA Headquarters
Room 8V69
300 E Street, S.W.
Washington, D.C. 20546
E-mail: foiaoig@hq.nasa.gov
You may send an electronic FOIA request from this web page.
Note: FOIA requests must be in writing. No telephone requests will be accepted. If you do not know the exact title of the document you are seeking, please provide a description of the document. The more information you provide about the document such as author or date, the more expeditiously your request can be processed.
